Meet Our Bloggers

While pregnant, Amy and DH decided to hold out and wait to be surprised by the sex of their baby until he or she arrived.  Besides receiving enough yellow and green items to cover a cornfield, what they thought would be one of life's last great surprises ended up being only the first of everday life since baby boy Leo arrived almost a year ago.  Now every day is an adventure with a steep learning curve... and we thought the business world was tough.

When not blogging herself or helping Glow grow, Amy enjoys running (yes, really), cooking, reading - when she can stay awake - and spending time with her little family of three.  Blogging with Glow allows Amy to bring many of her interests together - healthful living, mompreneurship, eco-consciousness and social responsibility.

Just when Lucy had some remote sense that she was managing to balance everything in her life ? motherhood, hubbie, new business, herself ? along came blogging. Someone should produce a warning sign about how addictive it can be and remind us that laundry will pile up, dust bunnies will accumulate and reality TV will not get watched.

Other than reading blogs and starting Glow Beverages, Lucy strives, like all of us, to be a good mom.  She is currently digging up her garden to make it more earth and Liam-friendly (ok, she?s doing more husband-supervising than digging) and researching how to secretly feed veggies to a fussy toddler.  Lucy is inspired by the stories of successful momtreprenuers and is all ready to sign up for the mom-invented Extra Arm and Extra Hour-in-the-Day.

Micaela started her Mindful Momma blog as a way to find a balance between living green and driving herself crazy.  As a stay at home Mom of two boys, she wants to do the right thing for the environment, but realizes she can't do it all.  She prefers to buy local and organic food but can't afford it every day.  She'd love to remodel her house with sustainable building materials and Energy Star appliances, but that's not in the budget.  And she doesn't have enough time in the day to find the perfect eco-solution to every problem.  But she tries.

So she shares her adventures and her passes on her knowledge about green and healthy living?.because she figures she probably isn't the only Mom out there struggling with the same issues.  It's green living from the homefront?.served up with a healthy dose of reality.

doctor mama

Rebecca received both her M.D. and became a mom within the span of a few months, forcing her to wear those two hats simultaneously from the beginning.  During the decade since then, she has opted to wear the mom one most prominently (with the exception of the residency grind when she had no choice) and feels lucky to currently work part-time as a physician in a private family practice - seeing newborns to centagenarians. She quips that work is her vacation since at home just getting her 4 kids fed, dressed, and out the door in the morning feels like a days worth of work.  But she's not complaining because the whirlwind of raising kids is passing by oh so fast and those moments in between the chaos are just oh so sweet.

Julie had almost 40 year's worth of free time to enjoy the arts before having her baby girl with her soulmate in October 2007. Professionally she came from the children's book industry in marketing, and prior to that, the natural foods industry (beverages), so not only does she have an envious children?s book collection, she appreciates good, nutritious beverages and foods.

A poet and art lover in her wonderful Northern California small-town bedroom community, she is passionate about continuing her stream-of-art-ishness even after having her baby. There is a wonderful world of arts to explore, perhaps even more so now with our own little works of art!

Julie feels that the opportunity to be a Glow Mama is such an outstanding avenue for her to connect to her new world of mama-hood and share her art endeavors with her mom community. Her goal is to explore and bring a heartful of artful information to you via information about books, music, art, leisure, and everything in-between. Here?s to enjoying life with our families!

Melissa is your typical stay at home mother with an almost three year old son named Connor. She started blogging one day in an attempt to keep herself from shopping. She couldn't stop researching and trying out new products for her family. The more she purchased the more she found that the products weren't always what she expected. It was after she bought her third thermometer and discovered it was the one she needed from the start that she realized she could put her shopping addiction to a better use. Thus she decided to put her product knowledge into a blog and create an honest place for product reviews that was not financially influenced. Her blog also allowed Connor a chance to be a little star in her video reviews.

She is currently pregnant with her second child and now focuses more of her reviews on maternity and new mommy products. It's amazing the developments in baby gear in the almost three short years since Connor was born. She hopes to provide all mothers with a resource to find what they need to save some sanity at home and not to mention avoid making some not so great purchases.  Having a child is always full of surprises and for Melissa it's no different. Connor teaches her something new each day and he also inspires her to search for great products.  Most recently he taught her that she needed to find a way to keep the toilet paper from becoming a train track or a toilet plug. Nice to know we never stop learning!

We use this blog name for when we want to pass on information, tips and great news from the whole Glow Beverages Team.  It?s a collective effort from everyone here at the office ? all the moms who work hard to keep this ball not only rolling, but juggled up in the air along with our families, our health, our hobbies and our community.  Since we are often working virtually we haven?t all stood still together long enough for a photo, so here's our mascot Liam again.
